Something changed with booster bundles
If you’ve bought an Ascended Heroes, Chaos Rising or Pitch Black booster bundle recently and tried to put it in a protector that fit your older bundles, you already know: it doesn’t go in.
That’s not your protector being defective. The packaging changed.
What the difference actually is
Booster bundles through the Scarlet & Violet era were a consistent size — around 3.1 × 2.2 × 4.4 inches. Our standard Booster Bundle Protector is built to that, and it’s been reliable across dozens of sets.
The newer bundles are taller. Same rough footprint, more height. Enough that a protector sized for the older format simply won’t close over one.
Don’t force it
The instinct is to push. Don’t.
A bundle wedged into a protector that’s too short puts pressure directly on the top seam, which is exactly where the factory seal lives. You risk creasing the box, stressing the shrink wrap, or splitting the seal — turning a sealed-mint bundle into a damaged one in the process of trying to protect it.
A protector that doesn’t quite fit is worse than no protector at all.
What we’re doing about it
We’re making a Booster Bundle Protector (Tall) sized specifically for these. Same 12 mil clear PET, same soft-fold assembly, built to the new height.
It isn’t available to order yet. We’re test-fitting it against real bundles first, because that’s the whole point of the fit guarantee.
You can follow it on the Booster Bundle Protector (Tall) page.
What to do in the meantime
Keep the tall bundles out of direct sunlight and off a shelf where they’ll slide against other boxes — most of the damage sealed product takes is slow handling wear, not a dramatic accident. A drawer or a closed shelf is fine for a few weeks.
If you have older Scarlet & Violet or earlier bundles, or Build & Battle boxes, those still fit the standard Booster Bundle Protector perfectly.
Not sure which format you have? The Fit Finder will tell you — type your set name and it’ll say plainly whether we have a size for it yet.
